On
October 7 2009 divers went down to recover the half a tonne local gate hinges
that had helped secure the Maryport Marina. On Saturday Oct 3 the gates at Maryport
marina fell into the sea, causing a 6ft wave which smashed 10 boats. Below are
the scene as the divers went fown in zero visibility to feel around for the
parts from the lock gates.
